Stainless Steel 409 Pipes are produced from a ferritic stainless steel alloy containing approximately 10.5–11.7% chromium, along with low carbon levels for improved weldability and reduced carbide formation. The alloy offers moderate tensile and yield strength, good ductility, and reliable oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures. Although corrosion resistance is lower than higher-chromium stainless steels, 409 performs well in mildly corrosive and heat-intensive environments.
