Compositionally, Aluminium 6082 contains 0.7-1.3% silicon, 0.4-1.0% magnesium, 0.1% copper max, 0.25% chromium max, and minor iron, manganese, zinc, titanium, with the balance aluminum. Mechanically, in T6 temper, it offers tensile strength around 260-310 MPa, yield strength about 240-260 MPa, elongation approximately 8-12%, and Brinell hardness near 95 HB. It has a density of 2.70 g/cm³, elastic modulus of 70 GPa, melting point approximately 555 °C, and thermal conductivity near 172 W/m·K.
